1 TBS butter 1/2 Lb ground beef 1/2 cup onion, chopped 2 quarts cold water 2 beef bouillon cubes 2 Tsp salt dash, pepper 1/3 cup Pearl barley 1 1/2 cups raw potato, diced 1 package (l0 oz.) frozen mixed vegetables
Melt butter in soup kettle. Add ground beef and onion. Break up ground beef with a fork and brown the meat and onion, stirring frequently. Add remaining ingredients except the frozen vegetables. Simmer 40 minutes. Bring to a boil and add the frozen vegetables. Cover and cook 15 to 20 minutes longer. Serves 6
