Italian Sausage and Pepper Subs

*I was in the grocery store today and the specialty meat dept had the most incredible looking Italian sausages on sale...so I grabbed a pound and came up with this easy dinner dish. They are really, really good...and easy. I'm all about easy! Hope you try this...Colette

ITALIAN SAUSAGE AND PEPPER SUBS

Ingredients

1  pound Italian Sausage (about 4)
1  medium green bell pepper, cut into chunks
1  medium red bell pepper, cut into chunks
1  medium onion, chopped
1  can (26 ounces) Spaghetti, Marinara or Pizza Sauce (I like Hunt's Spagetti Sauce)
1 1/2 cup shredded mozzerella cheese
black pepper*
garlic powder*
italian seasoning *
Italian sub rolls (4)

Directions
1. Place a 12-inch skillet over medium high heat until hot. Brown sausage with onions and peppers until sausage is no longer pink and the vegetables are tender crisp. Add seasonings.
2. Add spaghetti sauce; heat thoroughly.
3. Split rolls lenghwise and place sausages on them. Cover with sauce and veggies, top with cheese. Brown carefully under broiler to melt cheese, or wrap subs individualy in foil and place in a 300*F oven for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and ready to serve...pack for lunch or an italian picnic.

Serves 4

* To taste
