Sam's Ice Cream Pizza

*I came up with this recipe for my son's 5th birthday party...it was a big hit! I recommend using a disposable foil pizza pan, sprayed with Pam. You can add your favorite candies and toppings..these are just suggestions. Allow about 5 minutes for it to warm up before serving. YUM!!!

SAM'S ICE CREAM PIZZA

1 bag OreoŽ cookies (crushed or made into crumbs in food processor)
5 tablespoons (approx) butter, melted
1/2 gallon softened ice cream...flavor of your choice
chocolate shell topping
strawberry shell topping
M&MŽ candies
Chocolate chips

Mix butter with OreoŽ cookie crumbs (add enough to make it moist, but not greasy. May need more or less than 5 TBSP). In a 10" disposable pizza pan with a lip, press out cookie crust, pushing crumbs up the lip of the pan. Freeze crumb crust for 10 minutes until it hardens a bit, making it easier to work with. Spread softened ice cream over crust. Decorate, like a pizza, with candies and toppings. Use the strawberry shell topping to make little "pepparonis", squiggle the chocolate shell around and sprinkle candies and chips over top of pizza. Return to freezer and freeze hard for at least 5 hours. If you are going to freeze overnight or longer, cover with plastic wrap, after it is frozen solid. Cut into wedges, like pizza, and serve!

Serves 8-12
