2 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. shortening water as needed
Knead. Make little balls and roll out. Cut into 4-6 pieces each. Drop into HOT oil in pan for a very short time, then turn over.
Sprinkle with sugar while hot so sugar sticks.
Variation: You can use store bought tortillas for this also, but doesn't taste exactly the same ... but it is good for a snacky or dessert. I made these last summer for my DB and DSIL and kids and they all loved them!
