3 cups all-purpose flour 3 tablespoons white sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1-1/2 cups solid Crisco shortening 1 egg 2 tablespoons white vinegar 4 tablespoons cold water
Mix the flour, sugar, salt and Crisco together with a fork or pastry blender until it looks like coarse meal.
Beat the egg, vinegar and water together in a small bowl until mixed well. Add to flour and shortening mixture and stir together with a fork just until it sticks together.
Form into two balls.
Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 15 minutes.
Roll out or freeze for later use.
Yield: Two 9-inch pastry shells.
