To add to Coe's: Cookies in a Jar

Need a gift for the bakers on your list? Layer dry ingredients and HERSHEY'S Baking Pieces of various flavors in a clear jar to create a beautiful texture. Attach the recipe with a ribbon and you're all set!

Ingredients

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/8 teaspoon baking soda

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1 cup HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet or Milk Chocolate Chips

1/3 cup packed light brown sugar

1 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cup REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips, HERSHEY'S Premier White Chips or HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Directions
1. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a small bowl.

2. Layer the ingredients in a 1-quart glass canister or jar in the following order (from bottom to top): granulated sugar, 1 cup chocolate chips, brown sugar, flour mixture, oats and peanut butter chips. Tap jar gently on the counter to settle each layer before adding the next one.

3. Cover; attach baking directions (see below) to jar. Makes 1 gift jar.

Baking Directions: Heat oven to 375° F. Empty contents of the jar into a large bowl. Add 1/2 cup (1 stick) softened butter, 1 slightly beaten egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir until well mixed. Drop dough by heaping teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Makes 2 dozen cookies.
