Biscuits and Sausage Gravy

*Probably my son Sam's all time favorite breakfast! I try to make it a couple of times a month for a weekend breakfast treat!

Biscuits and Sausage Gravy

1 pound mild pork sausage (we like Farmland's bacon sausage)
1/4 (approx) flour
6 cups milk (adjust if you want more gravy)
Salt and black pepper to taste

Biscuits (I cheat and use canned or Bisquick)

In a large, deep skillet crumble and brown the ground beef over medium heat. Stir occasionally until all the sausage is completely cooked through. DO NOT DRAIN FAT. Add flour to sausage and grease, stir together and cook for at least 2 minutes. If it seems too thin, add more flour at this time. The amount of flour you need will be determined by how much fat is in the pan. You don't want it as thick as a paste, but not thin and watery.

After flour has cooked a couple of minutes, slowly stir in the milk. Stir frequently until gravy thickens and is bubbly. Do not let it stick or burn. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over split biscuits.

Serves 3-4
