This was one of our favorite cakes growing up! Notice no eggs, and yes, vinegar!!! It's really good and CHOCOLATEY!! :) (Gwen was my Mom and she loved making and eating this cake! She was a chocoholic!!)
Gwen's Wacky Cake
2 c. flour 2 c. sugar 6 T. cocoa 2 tsp. soda 1 tsp. salt 1/3 c. oil 2 T. vinegar 2 tsp. vanilla 2 c. cold water
Sift together dry ingredients in an ungreased baking dish. Mix well. Add liquid ingredients. Mix with fork. Bake @ 350* for 40 minutes. Top with either frosting or cool whip - or nothing!! Just as good plain as frosted!!
